“Composer/pianist Robert Bruce presents a program of calming and reflective solo piano music on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 – 7:30 pm at Church of St. John the Evangelist (The Rock on Locke), 320 Charlton Avenue West, Hamilton, Ontario.

This will be his first live concert in over 5 years and a number of new compositions will be premiered along with more familiar pieces from his True Ambience and Bound for the Tenderness of Eden piano albums. His solo piano music is known for creating a tangibly intimate and daydreamy atmosphere that many listeners find comforting and uplifting. His recent compositions are slightly more classical in nature, giving his new program a somewhat broader range of sonic colours and textures and adding a subtle contrast to the more meditative pieces.

Other Recent Work: After a change of focus lasting several years that included writing and producing some pop and R&B music and producing several music-based films, Robert completed 7 albums of new Film/TV music in 2024 which were signed and released by various publishers. His earlier Film/TV music continues to appear on many programs and commercials worldwide with many of those pieces now becoming somewhat recognizable due to the frequency in which they are heard. He has also recently completed a collection of innovative concert pieces for string quartet entitled “Prog Rock for String Quartet” which will be premiered and made into a documentary and performance film later this year. His calming and reflective solo piano program remains his primary focus and there are presently plans underway to take this program to Europe.
